Foods that Fight Breast Cancer

Consuming a high fiber diet is an underrated tool used to lower your risk of breast cancer. Research shows that eating a higher fiber diet is associated with lower risks of breast cancer. Dietary fiber should primarily come from higher fiber foods not fiber supplements. Foods with little or low fiber include refined grains, sugar, oils and animal products-these foods can also have high glycemic indexes that increase the risk of diabetes. Foods with anti-cancer properties (phytochemicals) high fiber content include natural plant foods. These foods include; oats, onions, garlic, mushrooms, cruciferous vegetables, berries, seeds (chia, flax, sesame), and beans. These plant based foods also promote colon health, lower and remove cholesterol from our bodies, lower risk of diabetes, promote heart health and weight loss.
